Your comfort is our priority at The Pimenta. We strive to accommodate the different needs and expectations of each guest and aim to provide a unique experience in an intimate setting. A home away from home, The Pimenta offers all the creature comforts of a traditional homestay while affording the guest a level of privacy uncommon in this type of set-up. Those seeking downtime need look no further than their very own veranda: the perfect spot for chilling out and soaking up the atmosphere in solitude. The communal space, a bohemian-style, sitting-come-dining area, provides an opportunity to socialise with your host or other guests, where you can enjoy your own music or curl up with a book from our small library. Wifi is available throughout the property for optimum convenience.
Your host and main point of contact is Jacob Mathew, who has been running The Pimenta with the support of his family since it opened. With over 20-years experience, Jacob attributes the success of The Pimenta to the fine balance between being well-organised and flexible. Guests are offered a wide range and combination of activities at and around the property, and Jacob is eager to find out what makes you tick so he can better guide you through your stay here. Food is at the pulsating heart of what we do and whether you’re up for a hands-on experience in the kitchen or just looking to enjoy a home-cooked meal, South Indian, vegetarian fare is the name of the game. Cookery courses, led by Jacob, are a holistic approach to getting acquainted with the history, techniques and ingredients that shape Keralan recipes. Away from the kitchen, you can gain a fascinating insight into Kerala’s history and culture on one of our many excursions. These include visits to a tea plantation, unusual local businesses such as a lorry-decorating workshop and serene boat trips along the Movattupuzha River.
